The Cheese Cave is a boutique specialty shop featuring the worlds finest gourmet and artisan cheeses. In addition to a broad offering of the best available cheese, other goodies that can be found at The Cheese Cave include cured meat provisions, preserves, jams, honey, oils, vinegars,  olives, dried fruits and nuts, crackers, flatbreads, locally baked bread, coffee and tea. It is our never ending objective to seek out and bring into our shop, the best quality and finest tasting products that are produced and if it is hand crafted, all the better!

The mission of The Cheese Cave is to promote the growing movement of real cheese, specifically here in the United States. Many of the old world European cheeses that have set the standard for craftsmanship, reflecting the distinct character of the local terroir are being rivaled by the explosion of American artisans.  Real Cheese is defined by the difference between industrial and artisanal. The term artisanal refers to hand crafted, traditional methods and small scale production that results in cheese that is genuine and authentic. The natural variations of artisanal cheese are as a result of the change of seasons, its impact on the land from which the animals feed, the milk that they produce and reflect the art and craft of great cheesemaking. Industrial cheese seeks to produce a highly predictable and consistent product that is achieved by altering the raw materials.

We invite you to come to The Cheese Cave, experience the flavors and aromas of the cheese, learn their stories, where and how it is made, what makes it great and how best to enjoy it!

Stay posted to our blog as we move closer to our Grand Opening early in 2011.
